DJ Koldun

DJ Koldun's story starts in early-90s Tallinn — as an MC and hip-hop concert organizer who put on the city's first hip-hop events back in 1994. In 1996 he stepped behind the turntables as a turntablist, and within a year was playing regularly across the Baltics, Germany and Russia. Three decades and hundreds of events later, he still plays the craft — real decks, the warm, living sound of vinyl, real cuts and blends — and reads a wedding or corporate floor as fluently as a club night.

By 1999 he had opened Tallinn's first underground club — a stage that hosted live musicians and MCs across genres. From 2000 onwards Amsterdam became home base, with regular nights at Melkweg, Paradiso, Sugarfactory and other landmark venues. He has played major festivals — Dance Valley's 10th anniversary, Rototom, Robodock, Dazzleville NDSM — and shared bills with artists such as London Electricity, Steel Pulse and Nu Tone. The road has taken him through Germany, Finland, Belgium, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Belarus, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Spain and Russia.

Today he's based back in Tallinn, with a steady festival and club calendar and two monthly radio shows — IDA Radio in Estonia and THC Radio in the UK. His own long-running Funk-O-Matic party, born in Tallinn and carried to Barcelona, still tours back. The palette is wide on purpose: house, tech house, disco, funk, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, reggae and Latin sounds all moving freely within the same night, accented with turntablist-style cuts and blends. Wedding reception, corporate evening or club night — a dynamic stage presence and infectious energy keep the floor in motion.
